Tufcot® T100 – Standard Grade

Tufcot® T100 resin system is our standard grade resin.

This polyester resin system is used in many general bearing applications, T100 is often used in non-critical applications where a lubricant is either not required or recommended, such as an insulator.

When T100 is used with the addition of different solid lubricants it allows the self-lubricating nature of the Tufcot® material to work with the mating parts.

Primarily Tufcot uses Graphite, Molybdenum Di sulphide and PTFE either as a single additive or in combination with the resin systems however other lubricants can also be added.

T100 will operate to a maximum constant temperature of 100 degrees Celsius and will operate with a co-efficient of friction value of approx. 0.2 against stainless steel in dry running conditions. This figure is reduced to between 0.13 and 0.18 purely with the addition of Graphite as in T100G grade (a Tufcot standard grade).

Tufcot® T200 – High Temperature

Tufcot’s T200 resin system is our higher temperature resin system, again a polyester resin system and used in applications where the customer requires a higher temperature capability than the T100 resin systems.

T200 can be used without lubricants or with the addition of solid lubricants as mentioned above, provides the self-lubricating nature of the material to reduce the operating friction with its mating parts.

T200 will operate to a maximum constant temperature of 120 degrees Celsius and gives a co-efficient of friction value of approx. 0.2 against stainless steel in dry running conditions.

This figure can be reduced to between 0.15 and 0.19 with the addition of Graphite, as in T200G grade (a Tufcot standard grade).

Tufcot® T400 – Fire Retardant

T400 resin system is our fire retardant grade of resin.

A polyester resin system including fire retardant additives and used in applications in the mining sector and the oil and gas sectors.

When exposed to a naked flame the material will burn, once the source of combustion is removed the material will self-extinguish within a few seconds.

This material can again be used with the addition of solid lubricants as with the other resin systems.

T400G grade can operate to a constant temperature of 100 degrees Celsius and will operate with a co-efficient of friction value of 0.14 to 0.15 against stainless steel in dry running conditions.

Tufcot® T600 – Chemical Resistant

T600 resin system is a Bisphenol resin.

It is ideally suited for chemical resistant applications.

Once again this resin system can be used with many lubricants and solid lubricant fillers to enhance the properties and lower the co-efficient of friction.

T600 grade, which is naturally pink in colour, can operate to a constant temperature of 100 degrees Celsius and will operate with a co-efficient of friction value of 0.18 to 0.2 against stainless steel in dry running conditions.
